The Bucalo Family Foundation is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with special needs, with a special focus on those with Down syndrome, in the Tampa Bay Area.
We provide funding and support to nonprofit organizations, families, and professionals who are making a direct impact in this community.
Our mission is to bridge the gap in access to essential medical services, therapies, and educational resources by offering financial assistance to families and strategic grants to nonprofits aligned with our values. We proudly recognize and reward educators, therapists, and care providers who go above and beyond in their dedication to inclusion, progress, and the dignity of every individual.
Through purposeful giving and community-centered partnerships, we aim to foster a more inclusive, supportive, and empowered future for all.
F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is committed to enriching the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and other special needs by fostering inclusion, awareness, equality, and support. Through our programs, advocacy efforts, and community engagement, we empower individuals with Down syndrome and special needs to lead fulfilling lives while also educating the broader community about diversity, inclusion, and acceptance. F.R.I.E.N.D.S. contributes to the betterment of our community by providing vital resources, programs, and services that provide meaningful connections and promoting a culture of inclusivity and belonging for all. Today, we can build a more inclusive world where everyone is valued and accepted for who they are and not their diagnosis.
Down Syndrome Association of Tampa Bay
We are a public 501(c)3 organization and our focus is on the education of Down syndrome and advocating for individuals born with Down syndrome as we fight for inclusion. Our association concentrates on servicing our Down syndrome community as we spread awareness through experience and knowledge. We are also a support group for expectant parents who receive a positive diagnosis for Down syndrome. We will be there for those families before and after birth.
Gigi’s Playhouse Tampa
GiGi’s Playhouse is a network of non-profit Down Syndrome Achievement Centers with the mission to change the way the world views Down syndrome through community campaigns, educational programs, and by empowering individuals with Down syndrome and their families. GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa makes a lifetime commitment to support and empower families from prenatal diagnosis, birth and through to adulthood by offering no-cost therapeutic, educational and career development programs. Founded by a mother in Illinois in 2002, GiGi’s Playhouse has grown to more than 55 Playhouses in the U.S. and Mexico with plans to open another 10 in the next year. Tampa is the 3rd Florida location.
